Who builds the Institute
People
The Institute is built around people and projects rather than a permanent bureaucracy. Researchers, practitioners, builders, and advisors come together around specific bodies of work, with responsibility distributed to those closest to each project.
How we work
The Institute operates through decentralized projects rather than a large permanent staff. Fellows and project leads are given room to develop and execute their work, drawing on Research Associates, Contributors, advisors, and partner institutions as needed. The Institute provides the common platform, standards, relationships, and institutional support that connect the work.
Fellows
The Institute's core researchers and builders: people who lead a project or advance a sustained body of work under the Institute's research agenda.
Research Associates
Scholars and practitioners who bring specialized research, analysis, or professional expertise to individual Institute projects.
Contributors
Writers, developers, designers, researchers, and operators who join defined projects where their skills are needed.
Advisory Council
Senior figures who provide judgment, scrutiny, expertise, and institutional perspective to the Institute's work. The Council is advisory and holds no governing authority.
Appointments will be announced as the Institute's first cohort is formed.
Institute appointments are programmatic or advisory positions. The Advisory Council provides perspective, expertise, and counsel to the Institute; it is advisory in nature and holds no governing authority. Institute governance remains separate from advisory participation.
